The house is slated to be torn down July 2012. See where many Carlisle students lived or visited before the school's closure in 1918. Was looking for information about the Parker Farm which is slated to be torn down by the Carlisle Barracks in Spring or early summer of 2011. It's a shame that such an important historic landmark can't be preserved.

While there we heard lectures, saw a slide show, explored a museum and toured the grounds of the former Carlisle Indian Industrial School. We spent the night at The Iron Masters’ Mansion Hostel in Pine Grove State Park. Wheelock was for many years, Carlisle's bandleader.  The Carlisle Indian School band was renown for its polish and talent and it performed at every Presidential inaugural during the school's history (1879-1918). It was during Friedmans' watch at the Carlisle school, that the U.S. Senate investigated goings-on.  They followed the money, and one of the complaints raised by students was that the amounts found in their personal bankbooks didn't jibe with amounts held in their accounts kept by the school.
